Banjos, sitars, electric guitars; music of night, flight and love's delight; passion and compassion...it's a fascinating journey. Come along for the ride.
9 MP3 Songs
ROCK: 60's Rock, FOLK: Folk Pop
Details:
This album is a sort of personal history lesson. There are nearly as many styles here as there have been changes in my life. I guess that's a good thing.
"Bombay" is about my recent trip to Bombay, (now Mumbai) India. It's an amazing, sad, beautiful, terrifying place. I met and married my Indian Princess there.
"Who is this Indian Princess" you ask? Listen to "Indian Princess" and "Song for Carmen". Also, "Worth the Wait" and Everything" from my first CD.
"Down the Highway" is a dark little tale, co-written with my brother Andy.
"The Ballad of Ronald Hanson" is a true story, told bluegrass style. Check out the lyrics and you'll know what I was doing in the late 80's, early 90's.
I wrote "For the Friend I Never Met" after discovering the music of Elliott Smith, and reading about his life, and his death. It was a runner-up in the Song of the Year contest.
Below are some critiques from the VH-1 Song of the Year contest.

COMMENTS ON EMOTIONAL IMPACT
Your lyrics are poignant and very descriptive of the matters of the heart and getting back to your âprincessâ no matter what. The music starts off subtly and then dives into a mellow jam. The small guitar solo is a touch with the slide. The title is perfect.
