Details:
Born to a singing Angel in Atlanta, Georgia, raised in Bowen Homes, a community in âThe Dirty Southâ made even more famous by Comedian Bruce-Bruce (http://www.bruce-bruce.com/), and Outkast (http://www.outkast.com) in their video âBombs over Baghdadâ, Rod Kelley has triumphed and proven himself a force to be reckoned with in this music world.
Rod studied jazz performance at Georgia State University, and performed with both the Georgia State Jazz Band and the Clark College Jazz Orchestra. He received a degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
While Rodâs musician friends [including notable musicians William Green (http://www.musicmontaj.com/william_news.htm), Sonny Emory (http://www.sonnye.com/), and Sam Sims (http://www.samsims.com/] began touring with world famous artists, Rodâs musical horizon was expanded as he became a member of a twenty-three piece orchestra. While performing with this orchestra, he also arranged and conducted musical productions that have been televised nationally.
Rod spent many hours as a kid admiring his mother as she rehearsed, recorded, and performed. Though Rod has made music and traveled the globe with notable artists, now the spotlight is on him. He has pulled together some of the greatest musicians of our time to capture the essence of his music. This freshman project has music that will stand the test of time. Hear these songs now from the âMusic Manâ himself.
