When tintype was young they had boners for bands such as Cave In, Melvins, Botch, Isis, Fugazi etc., the list was never ending and the range was vast. At first, like monkeys, they began to imitate all of their favorite bands and often would throw their fecal matter at one another other during practices. Some experiments went right, some went terribly wrong. Their music had been described as a piñata full of bars of soap and expired pain medication. After years of writing, with different members coming and going, the music began to take on a shape of its own. It was a natural and welcome metamorphosis. What it resembled, no one could say exactly. It was pure, it was unfiltered, it was manly, and it was Tintype. Our first cd is a collection of the growing pains and revelations that brought us to where we are today. Every song has its story but I'm not going to tell you what they are. Here is the rank, god awful dirty laundry of four young men in the form of music. Appreciate its rawness or at least laugh at its awkwardness.
