Co-Writers Jerry K. Green & Connie Mims
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jerry began writing songs as a teenager, after hearing Country Music Stars Ernest Tubb, Eddy Arnold, Hank Williams, Red Foley (who became his major influences), Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys Western Swing / Texas Swing music, and many others.
From 1950 to 1980, Jerry was a part-time professional singer and songwriter, with more than 50 appearances on the Grand Ole Opry and Louisiana Hayride, plus nationally released recordings, including Billboard Chart Records.
Now, Jerry is retired from Day Jobs and is writing and singing full time, for the first time, performing his new songs at Writers Nights in Nashville, back in the studio recording them...and preparing for possible Road Gigs.
In 2009 Jerry resumed his music career after a 30-year absence, as a Nashville and Texas Country Music Performing Songwriter, to "see what he can stir up at this age (80, in December 2011).
Jerry was thirty-four years old when he first came to Nashville.
The Publisher/Producer of his first Nashville session took it to Hit Record Producer Owen Bradley at Decca Records, who stated that Jerry was too damn old.
So, of course, at 79, Jerry understands he is certainly too old to pursue a conventional recording career. But, he is hoping he may find success with the help of Cable TV, internet and satellite radio and video, friends, contacts, and exposure...which were not available in his earlier music life.
