Jeanne was an amazing singer and songwriter. To hear her voice truly was like hearing her soul. I could not keep from crying every time her beautiful voice soared into the atmosphere. Jeanne wrote the lyrics to "In Heaven" after a beloved friend of hers passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. She wrote it before she even knew she had cancer. In it she talks about her friend now knowing more about Heaven than she does. She calls him her "expert witness." Jeanne has become my expert witness now. She passed away from cancer on August 7, 2010. I read these lyrics at her funeral and then decided that they needed to be set to music. I decided to write the song in the style of two of Jeanne's favorite singers: Celine Dion and Josh Groban. I wrote the music on a keyboard with a portrait of Jeanne above me and I truly believe that she inspired me while I was writing. A good friend of our family, Marden Pond, arranged the music for the orchestra on the recording. The singers are Meghan Parrish and James Wardrop. The beautiful cover art is an original work that Jeanne painted. Proceeds from this song will go to cancer research. -Kathryn Madsen
