Details:
Roc is the sound of the future with a versatile style that changes to compliment any beat he raps on. He bases his lyrics on life experiences & knowledge learned from growing up with a single Dad, only seeing his Mom for the summer every 1 or 2 years. " I'm glad I have a Mom. A lot of kids don't or didn't growin up.I'm blessed for being able to see her at all. Roc doesn't rap about Guns, Or shootin people because Roc wasn't into that. "While Katz were out sniffin yola and rappin about fake shit, I was at the house, Smokin weed and rappin my real shit into a boom box." Roc says, "I don't rap about guns or gangsta shit because I am not a gangsta, I rhyme about real life, and luckily I didn't have to stay strapped growin up." Witnessing his parents divorce and alot of drama between parents, Roc grew up with alot of smarts and common sense. Being a quiet kid, he did a lot of listening and watching which taught him alot. Roc first started his rappin in about seventh grade. " Nobody knew I was rappin. I was never the outspoken type to step to a group and start spitten. I was always in my room writin rhymes or thinkin about em at school."When Roc hit High School a lot of his boy got into the wrong drugs. Roc was more of a home body. "My boys would hassle me everyday about me never kickin it, but I was polishin my skills". Roc spent the majority of his freshman year writing songs and makin no budget recordings. During his Sophmore year (1998) he performed at a school talent show, and let everyone know what he had been doing and people loved it. Soon after, word got out to Jewelz about a white kid tearin up Mics. They finally Met through mutual friends and instantly became partners. Jewelz was the first person to show Roc that his talent was serious. With his producer Night Train's help Roc's style began to bloom more and more until he had created a sound that was flawless. With mixtapes, and his Debut Album "The Awakening" on the way, Roc is destined to take the industry by storm.
