Russell who has been residing in the US for the last two decades has been out of the calypso scene for just as long.
During a recent visit home during the Jazz festival Russell says âI sang a little piece of my old song "I Come Out to Entertain" in Gros Islet at a Karaoke bar and a few bystanders were singing right along with me. That inspired me immensely, and made me realized how much I missed singing Calypsoâ. In the US I am not fully away from the music scene, Christopher Neil and I, are two of four partners that form Big As Life Recording Studio LLC, a highbred recording studio, record label and publishing company located in Elizabeth NJ.â
With this rejuvenation of inspiration triggered by a few fans on that night in Gros islet, Russell decided to pen some songs and with a resource like Christopher Neil as the producer they simply came pouring out. The titles include, You Bring Out De Animal, The Right Type, Whine Like You Believe and Push Dat. According to the Exterminator, âhopefully my re-entry will add yet another dynamic to the already fully packed talent landscapeâ
