Del Nel is a music collaboration between Delia Brown and Nelson Marquez, brought together in June, 2011, to create the song Revenge of the Black Prius, in response to Whole Foods Parking Lot music video on youtube.

The history of Nelson and Delia's musical collaborations goes way back to the legendary King King in Hollywood , when Nelson was the frontman of a Los Angeles band called Mango Bang. Delia was then in a newly formed rap duo (alongside Evelyn Charlot) called The Fuzz. Nelson invited the Fuzz to get up on stage with Mango Bang, giving The Fuzz their first taste of live performance.

Delia Brown is currently a visual artist living in LA. Her work can be seen at www.deliabrown.net. Her work has been exhibited around the world (including an exhibition opening at Gallery Hyundai, Seoul, South Korea, July 7, 2011), and has been featured in many publications including the New York Times, Elle, and Artforum. Delia was born in Berkeley, CA, and grew up mostly in Mar Vista, CA, attending Mark Twain Junior High until getting expelled for pot smoking on campus, Venice High School, UC Santa Cruz, and UCLA. She lived in Brooklyn, NY for 8 years before returning to live in Santa Monica in 2009.


Nelson Garcia Marquez appeared on three Grammy award-winning recording projects and has performed at such legendary places as the Hollywood Bowl (Playboy Jazz festival), supporting one of his musical mentors Israel Lopez âCachaoâ. He has produced for Virgin recording artist Crystal Sierra and has licensed many of his own original compositions to numerous film and television projects. He has performed through out the world, appeared on many television broadcasts including âThe Late Showâ, and âFiesta Broadwayâ for the Telemundo network. For many years, Nelson was bandleader of the Venice Beach-based latin/soul/funk band, âMango Bangâ and released their projects on his own label. For years, he also did acting on the side, and achieved credits in many films. However it was his appearance with his Godfather,Andy Garcia, in the film âThe Lost Cityâ which allows the hyphenate âmusician/actor.â By day, he is still the owner of one of LAâs largest lunch delivery services.
