Details:
Road Trip is an Original Rock Band based out of the Philadelphia, Pa. area. The band plays a variety of music with a 70's/80's/90's flair.
Their style is unique, with a blend of melodic ballads along with energetic straight at you rock and roll⦠fronted by a powerful and
talented female vocalist, Alyx Reinhardt.
Road Trip had been in the making for several years and finally, in 2005, they have hit the ground running!!! The band âRoad Tripâ was founded by Dominic Macrone (Guitar & Vocals)and Rob Lombardi (Bass, Keyboards & Vocals). Playing in numerous bands over the years, the two musician/songwriters wanted to get their own songs out on the Philadelphia music scene and enjoyed moderate success in the late 90âs and into the new millennium with the band âRed Skyâ with whom they cut their first CD âGame Theory.â Shortly after the release of âGame Theoryâ the band Red Sky evolved into Road Trip.
In 2002 they were introduced to a dynamic and powerful female singer/songwriter, Alyx Reinhardt who had taken time off from the music scene after returning from Europe where she had been fronting an original rock band. They felt a positive chemistry and decided to give it a go. After several attempts to get all of the Road Trip elements together, it wasn't until late 2004 that Road Trip finally found the chemistry they were looking for in Lead Guitarist Mike Gerstner and Drummer Brian Berlanda. Veterans of the Philly Music Scene playing in both cover bands and original bands; the two have brought the missing elements in attitude, personality and sound that Road Trip was looking for.
With a full schedule of bookings during the past 12 months, Road Trip has built a loyal following of its original music. With many of their gigs coming from "Cover Venues" they have been able to re-book every single club they've played. It isn't easy winning over "Cover Crowds" but so far good fortune has been accompanying the band. In 2005 Road Trip was selected as opening act for 2 National Shows at Crocodile Rock Cafe in Allentown, Pa. In May they opened for the 80's "Hair Band" "Europe" then in November another 80's band "Jackal."
Road Trip has played all over Eastern Pennsylvania during the past year... from Wilkes Barre to Philadelphia's famous South Street Venues. Their experience does not stop there... All members of Road Trip have played a wide variety of venues that range from the Night Clubs of Wildwood N.J. to venues in Europe. You can see their experience by logging on to their website http://www.roadtripphilly.com and view the "Roads Previously Traveled" page. You can also catch the band's current schedule along with band member bio's, and a host of other information...
Along with Red Sky's "Game Theory" CD, Road Trip has a live sampler CD called "Roads Previously Traveled" and their new CD Release "Driven" released on April 11, 2006. The recording, mixing and mastering for âDrivenâ was done at Range Entertainment in Ardmore, Pa.
