FOLK: Modern Folk, JAZZ: Free Jazz
Details:
Rod Whaley's new album "What Time Will Do" was selected for "All Songs Considered" on National Public Radio. From the first track "Just For You" to the concluding track "Wandering Wanderer," Rod recounts the myriad twists and turns of the human journey; the choices made and those yet to be made that propel life onward to its inevitable conclusion. By engaging such universal experiences as hope, love, promises-both made and broken, to aging and dying, he opens up the album in a way that all listeners can relate to.
Joining Rod once again in the studio is guitarist Dorian Michael, bassist Paul Olguin, Bill Severance on drums, along with newcomers Kenny Blackwell on mandolin and Robert Alberts on trumpet. Rod and the band offer the listener an eclectic mix of folk rock, folk jazz, blues, and reflective instrumentals.
"What Time Will Do" was recorded on 1" analog tape with careful attention given to the digital mastering to ensure the listener of a warm and inviting recording.
