Born and raised in North Mississippi, the musical influences are obvious from the Byrd's flavored sound of âSite for Sore Eyesâ and the Beatlesque tone of "I Will Be Your Love" to the blend of Memphis soul in âWorld Gone Crazyâ. Rick sings about life and death and the struggle to live between the two.

The release of 1995âs âThe Living Treeâ for Needle Eye Records received great reviews from the Birmingham News and local critics. during this time Rick performed âI Put My Trust in Youâ and âPapaâs Prayerâ in the EWTN program âSay Yesâ with Dana (an Irish born singer/songwriter). Rickâs arrangements of Danaâs song âCroist Linnâ gave him the chance to perform with renowned guitartist Phil Keaggy in the same series.

Today rick performs solo and with
the blues/rock band âLiturgical Autopsyâ.
He is also a member of George Vinsonâs
Project 150.
