Born into the dreamless sleep that was that corner of the world, Rick was unceremoniously deposited onto the damp grey earth. Surface tension alone prevented Rick from floating away, unnoticed, into some lighter, headier brew. Raised not by wolves but by tradition and habit, Rick was publicly schooled in the three Râs: routine, restraint and resolve. Ungraced and unfit, he limped along, silent and solitary until one day, disbelief suspended, he was able to ignore his immediate circumstance and reconsider his options.

This left him unsettled and completely unsuitable for the life that swirled around him. So he developed his own life within which to counter-swirl. This served to create an equilibrium that sustained him until he was able to break free of the gravitational pull of his local environment and wander freely.

Later that day he went on to re-invent pop music and continues now as then casting dissonance against consonance, vowel against consonant and adverb against adjective. Never threatened with maturity, he has managed to maintain a modicum of potential, whereby the future lies in the present, and the past is what you make it.
