Details:
Iâm Rick Quarles and Iâve been the Singing Science Teacher for 12 years now. Iâve been featured on a major universityâs Integrated Science Program videos that are broadcast throughout the U.S. and parts of Canada. Iâve taught both 6th and 7th grade science (life and physical as well as general science). Iâve always enjoyed doing activities and labs with my students as well as entertaining them with music and involving them with musical science skits. My original songs include a lot of science vocabulary and concepts in physical, earth, and life science set to all kinds of musical styles â rock nâ roll, rhythm and blues, country, bluegrass, blues, rap, and even easy listening. Teachers use the songs for instruction and reinforcement during the labs and activities. Students can even make up verses and dances to them. These songs are for all ages â children, parents, and teachers. My background in playing with various bands over the years, my interest in science, and my humor (one of my favorite authors was Shel Silverstein) gives me resources to write and record science and nature songs that are a little different from the norm. Thatâs why I call it âScience On The Wild Sideâ.
