Ricardo Alonso was born in Mexico City. He took classical piano lessons from 7 to 16 years old. He discovered rock and roll and had some amateur rock bands. What really made him to have interest in composing was when he discovered groups that included the use of synthesizers with classical music. Over the years he went to Berklee College of Music in Boston Ma. to study mainly composition. After that, in Mexico he began to play keyboards for pop singers concerts and eventually began composing for national pop contests sometimes winning awards. Besides that, he began to compose jingles for radio and TV programs, compose the music for pop songs recorded by other singers, an instrumental Beatles song Cd and also produced and composed a CD for a vocal teenager group, but his love to compòse instrumental music in the vein of progressive rock and new age has made him to focus exclusively to this genre and by now has produced and recorded 4 different Cd's of original music, that have very positive reviews. This particular CD, HISTORIAS ABSTRACTAS, (which means in english Abstract Stories) has various songs that have been in the topten of Broadjam's listings (unique, soundtracks, new age, progressive rock, fan picks) and is the best selling CD of the four by now. It is a blend of progressive rock, new age, classical, and some latin flavored songs. It is recomended all songs to be heard but specially ATMOSFERAS, NOSTALGIA, SUPERFICIES SUBTERRANEAS and SUENOS ETEREOS.
