Easy listening classical piano solos intended as background to a romantic evening.
14 MP3 Songs
CLASSICAL: Traditional, EASY LISTENING: Cabaret
Details:
Gary's piano put him through the Navy, college and law school. Along with his law practice he devotes his time to music and travel. (He speaks English, French and a little Italian).
About his new CD Gary admits that it's ironic that he named it "Background Music", as he has misgivings about putting music in the background.
He says: "I once thought that using music as background was a bit like using fine art as decor. But I became convinced of its merit when, while visiting the Canadian Rockies our dinner at the Chateau Lake Louise was enhanced by a pianist who gave us light classics and beautiful ballads from the standards. Having recorded some standards I thought I'd try the classics on this one. You won't hear these pieces as played by a concert pianist. I played them as if I were asked to play "in the background" in an elegant restaurant. I recorded "Clair de Lune" on my 1871 Steinway, the others on my "modern" 1917 Knabe.
