Details:
Duncan is a well-known session guitarist on the North Wales, U.K. music scene, having played for countless alternative bands and projects including Skinflick, Papa Lazaroo, Carbonvein, Rhian Mostyn, Jack Sharp and Mongolian Dethkit. He has performed sessions for radio and TV, and played throughout the UK many times. He also performed at the Wave Treffen Gotik festival in Germany, 2004.

The constant collaborations prompted Link2Wales to label Duncan the âUbiquitous Guitar Mercenaryâ, a title that now adorns the album cover.

The album, featuring material from Duncanâs solo performances (he chooses to play without backing musicians), borrows from a wide range of genres including jazz, metal, electronica and folk music. Duncan has built a steady following in his local area, owing to the unconventional nature of his gigs where soundscapes, drums, bass, & electronic noises are all created single-handed, using guitars, hand-built FX units and a host of strange electronic boxes. Many of the tracks on the album were recorded live ââAudiosculptureâ is one solo guitar made to sound like a collection of synthesizers.

Talking about the album, Duncan commented:
âThe music draws itâs influences from all the different phases Iâve been through over the years. It goes from heavy metal to chilled-out ambient music and duelling banjos â thereâs a lot of experimentation. I have no backing band when I play this music, so Iâve found ways to multi track myself using gadgets and guitar pedals. People who have seen my live sets will recognise some of the tracks on the album. Hopefully itâs the first of many.â

Duncanâs solo material has been aired on BBC radio Wales, and he also headlined both of
R-Bennig label boss Johnny Râs Ethania concerts in 2004.
