The Matt Park Project

Matt Park first picked up his guitar in his late teens and immediately showed talent in songwriting and performing after he was asked to perform an original composition for his graduation ceremony at Bishop O' Dowd High School in Oakland. Not knowing music was his calling, he continued with his life in golf and did music on the side for fun. After receiving a full scholarship to play golf at St. Mary's College, he found out that his true heart and passion was in music. Leaving the golf team, Matt decided to focus on music full time by majoring in it and performing at live clubs at night.

He was introduced to a former Broadway Star, Richard Nickol, who is the founder of The S.F Academy of Performing Arts, and here Matt personally worked with Richard for 8 months and developed his craft. During that time, Matt met with Bill Bradley and Anthony Prael, founder of Mirapool Studio in Alameda, who sponsored Matt on his first album project, which is due to be released on May 20th 2005. Opportunities opened up for Matt internationally. Not only was he sponsored by Mirapool Studios in 2004 to record his album; he was invited to Korea for several auditions for major record labels that took an immediate interest in him. At 22, Matt Park dreams of continuing with his passion for music and hit the music scene with full force as a recognized Asian American singer/songwriter.
