Details:
"A worthy addition to any storytelling collection." Kathleen Kelly MacMillan, School Library Journal
In his latest collection of one-of-a-kind stories and poems, wordmaster and sound effects kingpin Keith Munslow will delight and amaze children and adults alike. Chock-full of quick wit and sharp detail, these stories run the gamut; from the tongue-twisting hilarity of "Don't Go To The Bog, Bob", to the spine-chilling excitement of "Old Man Gravy".
"...ripe with enthusiasm and great sound effects...makes the most of this multi-talented performer's abilities...Munslow gives the gift of old-fashioned storytelling to a generation often filled with overstimulation"
- Jackie Bell, Time Out
"Keith Munslow's songs, poems, stories and winning personality, along with his fast-fingered drawings, make him one of my 8-year-old's favorite performers."
- Alan Rosenberg, Providence Journal
Some stuff about Keith:
A truly multi-talented performer who combines rock-solid funky piano playing, soulful singing, hilarious stories, and lightning-fast cartooning, Keith Munslow has entertained thousands of children (and adults!) at schools and festivals throughout New England - and beyond. In June, 2004, Keith wowed 'em in Canada at The Northern Alberta International Children's Festival in St Albert, Alberta. Keith teamed up with Bill Harley in the spring of 2004 to create "Up To No Good", which they performed to sold out houses at Providence's Trinity Rep Theatre. Keith also appears on a number of Bill's recordings. Keith also teaches a class in performance and improvisation at the Rhode Island School of Design, as part of their Young Artist Program. His successful "Build-A-Book" story-writing residency programs have been presented at numerous schools, with popularity still growing.
A respected member of the Rhode Island music community, Keith is often seen with his band, The Superchief Trio , in addition to sitting in with harmonica legend Chris Turner and guitarist Thom Enright, among others. Keith is also the in-house composer for Perishable Theatre's Shows for Young Audiences. For ten years, Keith was a full-time member and musical director of Big Nazo, an award-winning mask and puppet touring company. And for over fifteen years, Keith has been involved with AS220, a non-profit arts space in downtown Providence. He is a longtime member of the Board of Directors for AS220, and has launched numerous projects from its stage. Keith writes and rehearses in his studio on AS220's second floor.
