GOSPEL: Contemporary Gospel, WORLD: African
Details:
Carole is a charismatic young woman whose greatest desire is to serve the Lord wholeheartedly. She accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and savior on Nov 14th 1997. Since then she has desired to give her best to God albeit many challenges.
She is affiliated to Parklands Baptist church (Parkie) in Westlands, Kenya but currently worships at Twelfth Baptist Church in Boston MA. Carole has served on various worship teams over the years as a soprano singer. Being a part of these teams was a dynamic experience that helped her not only refine her vocal abilities but taught her other life skills such as teamwork and accountability.
Her love for singing developed at a very young age through the influence of her parents' music collection. At school she participated in many choirs winning various awards. Blessed with the gift of writing and singing, she began to toy with the idea of recording an album.
And so it was two years later in March 2003, she began recording her debut CD. It has been a long time coming and not withstanding she has had to endure a whole lot of setbacks that have revealed to her that indeed though the vision tarries it shall come to pass.
The scripture which ties together this CD is found in Psalm 116:16 "Oh Lord, truly I'm your servant; I am your servant, the son of your maidservant; You have freed me from my chains."(NIV)
Carole's Life verse is Psalm 119:11{I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.}NIV
About the music
This CD's underlying theme is that Jesus Christ is the only one who can set us free. God wants to set us free so that we will serve Him wholeheartedly for it's only when Christ sets you free that you are free indeed. It also serves as a thanksgiving to God for setting her free.
The actual lyrics to the music are very conversational, expressing her moments with God. "Never Leave You" lies very close to her heart. It was one of the hardest moments in her life when she felt the church's love had grown cold. As she spoke to God amidst tears He led her to Isaiah 43 and there He broke it down;"No matter what the world thinks of you, I think the world of you!" and that was all she needed to hear; Her savior's loving reassurance.
"Arise n Shine" was a message given by a friend who had been praying for her and on one morning God imprinted Isaiah 60 on her heart, hence this song.
Other songs like "I'm amazed" and "Thankyou" express awe at how God's grace is sufficient and how He will go to any and every length to prove his love. Even when we have erred terribly His mercy is unceasing as long as we repent(1John1:9)
"Heaven is my throne" brought a whole new musical dimension to the CD. The song itself though was born out of a desperate need to understand her purpose in life. "If God made the earth in six days and every thing our eyes can see, why then would we think, Him securing our destiny is too difficult." That is the God we serve. There are so many facets to His character that we haven't even began to unravel them all.
"Room at the altar" was birthed in memory of a former colleague who wasnt a believer but whenever she went through a difficulty she always asked for prayer. Then one day Carole told her that God would love to hear from her as well and He delights to answer us when we call coz He loves us all. God isn't exclusive to just some people. And thus the song states, "There's room at the altar for you, just come and kneel beside me and if you're broken He'll fix it."
Listen to the music and allow God to work His way in your Life.
