this album is full of fantastic pop gems. although very much an english pop album, there are still moments like 'the theatre list' and the title track that could easily fit into a folk or alt country/american radio playlist. a perfect debut.

MuddyHead released their debut LP, Land And Sea, on the 27th February 2006 in the UK on their own word is out records, and to some enthusiastic support from BBC Radio 2. Mark Radcliffe, Steve Wright, Bob Harris and Janice Long, where the group recently appeared in session, have all been playing tracks from the album, and Uncut magazine called the LP âa perfect debut â.

From North Cheshire in England's North West, singer songwriter Andy Steele played with drummer Graham Chesters in ex Long Ryder Sid Griffinâs band The Coal Porters, and Andy met Gary Daly whilst playing keys in his group, China Crisis. The three were joined by singer Laura Campbell, from Liverpool group Mulu, and guitarist Colin Lambert, who once delivered the mail to Johnny Cash. After last Summer opening for Roxy Music, the group were given a one hour special on BBC Radio Merseyside and a feature on The Album Chart Show.

The group will be touring the UK and Europe in May and June, and will again be appearing at The Liverpool Summer Pops in July.
They are also included on American folk troubadour Michael Hurleyâs forthcoming tribute album âSnockumentâ, scheduled for release this autumn, and including contributions from Calexico, Cat Power, Bingo, Aberfeldy and James Yorkston.
