A musical form of storytellingâof image creation.
22 MP3 Songs
ELECTRONIC: Soundscapes, EASY LISTENING: Mood Music
Details:
Primarily a filmmaker, Musser tends to create stories within stories with his music. And, the stories are varied.
This album was created over a period of about six months. Although most of the tracks were digitally created, no loops were used. No quantizing was incorporated so you hear human rhythms (and the obligatory errors which go with that inference).
Some guitar work was used but only sparingly.
There was a small emotional battle between the part of me that's traditionally inspired and that of the experimentalist. I'm not sure which side won. Perhaps it was a draw.
Tracks on this album were the result of escapist intentions. I never began a composition with an intended result. Each evolved during the process. So, I responded to each layer at the moment.
Often, the opinion has been expressed that the tracks emote a visual trigger... almost as if they were soundtracks from films. Being a filmmaker and designer, I can't argue that reaction. Indeed, I find it an astute observation. One I wasn't sharp enough to notice myself until it was pointed out.
