HIP HOP/RAP: Hardcore Rap, HIP HOP/RAP: Rap
Details:
The Homestead, PA highly controversial underground rap group Organizâd Crhyme member Ishmael Muhammad aka Mel Jay produces heavy bass gothic beats and spits conscious lyrics in a rapid fire battle like fashion.
Tearrible (Rhymes From A Grown Man) Mel Jayâs debut solo album will be released on the independent label Rebelutionary Music on April 11, 2006. Tearrible (RFAGM) features production by Frank King, Grant Norris, Medicine Man and Mel Jay. Also, featured on the album are Organizâd Crhyme group members Force & Dexterity as well as other local Homestead, Pa. artists, T-Laws and Newtz. Tearrible (Rhymes From A Grown Man) stays consistent with the traditional Organizâd sound with deep bass lines and gothic synthesized riffs. The 17 track album addresses crooked cops, fatherless families, and other problems faced growing up in the ghetto. âI call it âTearribleâ because it puts terror in some peoples heart because I talk about real issues not material gifts God has bestowed upon me like a kid. These are rhymes from a grown man,â says Mel Jay.
Tearrible (RFAGM) comes six months after the promotional album Treason (The Tearrible Is Coming) which made underground fans more eager to hear the highly anticipated album that has been promoted for the last three years. For over a decade Mel Jay has been bringing honest lyrical content and supreme stage showmanship and donât expect him to stop now. âI did major shows on the Westside (Jam Fest 4 Oakland, CA). Iâve worked with big league producers, such as Al Eaton and the Organ Brothers and labels (Motown). It was a growing process for me. Itâs about building my own empire thatâs Rebelutionary Music,â says Mel Jay.
Tearrible (RFAGM) is the first of many albums to be released on Rebelutionary Music this year including the compilation album/DVD titled âRugged & Raw Footageâ. Mel Jay is currently working in the studio with Organizâd Crhyme on the âRugged and Raw Footageâ compilation album/DVD feat. Skill Nasty (Ray Jones), Nikki Scarfa, and other artists. Filming for âRap Like Himâ the second video from the Tearrible (RFAGM) is also in the making. For future information, merchandise, and performances visit WWW.REBELUTIONARYMUSIC.COM.
