Once upon a time, a little boy named Miles started Pre-School. His Mommy was very worried about lunchtime since Miles had severe food allergies. His teacher reassured her that Miles would be fine, and that "Everybody knows that you don't share food at school!" That day, The Allergy Song was born.

The message is vital. Over 6 million children in the United States (1 in 13) are reported to have food allergies. Something as simple as a shared cookie could result in a serious anaphylactic episode. Educating children about food allergies at a young age can save lives.

The Allergy Song was written with the pre-school aged child in mind. Small children respond to songs that have repetition and that teach a lesson in simple terms. Co-Writers Nicole Baselice and John Niven chose lyrics that are easy for children to understand. Lyricist Nicole Baselice, mother of a son with a severe cashew allergy, is on a mission to promote awareness in classrooms all over the world.

Remember, even though "You don't share food at school," you can still, "Share a story, song or smile!"
