Walkaway is Marakiel11:11âs first publicly released CD and the first in a series of ââ¦.awayâ albums, with 3 others currently in the works. With a background in classical music, he has written this album specifically for the exercise of walking, preferably with an iPod or similar player â bit hard to walk around with a âblasterâ on your shoulder for long periods!

Imagining if the love children of Vangelis and Bert Kampfert got together, Walkaway entwines a diverse mixture of lush strings, some funky and talkative bass, romantic acoustic and chunky 80's electric guitar, swing and poolside piano and a raft of other spirit-enhancing timbres, Walkaway has been designed and recorded to let you walk in rhythm to the music - âstep for beatâ so to speak. If played in sequence from Track 1 to 10, over the 50 minutes youâll start walking at a casual pace, build to a moderate pace, hit the peak pace for 15 minutes then taper off for the final 14 minutes - even the breaks between songs have been timed so each track starts bang on your step.

Or, you can mix âem up however you want and simply enjoy some refreshing and fashionably untrendy new tunes from a gifted musician. So plug in the earphones, go for a drive, vacuum the house, go up and down in a glass elevator and listen to some new tunes you could find yourself whistling at the most unexpected times. This albumâs been mixed for your head and body, as well as your ears - it could be very hard not to tap your toes.
