The sound of the Mark is hard to classify into a certain genre, though they often find themselves classified as a Jam Band. The sound is rock with a little jazz, a little funk and a little blues all rolled into one.
15 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Jam-band, ROCK: Roots Rock
Details:
THE MARK is a fresh approach to the roots-rock sound. Though their genre-busting style can make it hard to classify them, they often find themselves labeled as a jam band. Backgrounds stem from good time rock and roll, to blues, jazz, folk and funk.
THE MARK's first recording was an engaging single on Ibanez Guitars & TAMA Drums ComPost compilation CD (Bowsh Records). A online contest by Ibanez and TAMA where listeners voted for their favorite track on the CD won THE MARK Bowsh Records âBest Un-Signed Artist of the Yearâ award for 2004 earning THE MARK the recording time that made Plain As Day Possible, which the band then spent 2005 rehearsing and recording.
THE MARK combines longtime songwriting and performing partners Tom Appleton on lead vocals and acoustic guitar and Mark Capozio on lead guitar with a tight and driving rhythm section featuring Mark Walsh on drums and Tim Komonchak on bass.
