Mark P. Segal is a professional musician with over 25 years of musical education and performing experience. A graduate of Musicians Institute in 1987, he is proficient in most playing styles. Mark composes, arranges, performs, and records all of his original music at his recording studio in Los Angeles, CA.
Mark's performing and recording experience began with the original jazz-fusion project "High Maintenance" performing all over Los Angeles. Over the last several years Mark has been involved in several variety bands performing in California, Nevada, Arizona and the Midwest. His most recent project is with the high-energy band âThe Basix". Highlights from the "Basix" include opening up for "The Marshall Tucker Band" and "The Little River Band" in Branson Missouri. In Phoenix they backed the famous "Coasters" and "Drifters" for a fourth of July celebration performing for over 10,000 people.
Mark is also an accomplished composer, producer, arranger, and recording engineer. His âFirst Takeâ recording studio has earned quite a reputation for quality work, and many full length CDâs have been produced there. Mark has two releases of his own: âWisdom of the Ancientsâ (1999), and âSoul Travelerâ (2001). Both releases offer a diverse all original collection of Jazz/Rock instrumental music. Markâs style is both bold and passionate with tastefully crafted songs and accomplished musicianship. In fact, Mark brings new meaning into the solo project by producing, composing, arranging, performing, programming and recording all the songs and nearly all the instruments himself!
Mark is available for live performance in most styles, recording sessions, and production. He is also open to collaborate in composition and song arrangement. Stay tuned for Markâs latest release expected by early 2007!
