Details:
After years circulating in NYC's underground, Mark D releases his first solo, studio produced album. Teaming up with DJ Storm of Wu Tang and producers Phenom, J. Glaze, and Gooch, "The Voice of My Tears" is and insightful and deeply genuine hip hop album.
Mark tackles every topic from the War in
Iraq, to being considered a "wanna be" for rapping, to being a student with so much promise, to the heart of the album his views after September 11th.
Unknown to many is the fact that Staten Island "the forgotten borough" lost the most people on September 11th. The Voice of My Tears is the story of a community that hasnt forgotten. Working in a Wall Street firm on September 11th, Mark shares the story of how that event changed his views and opinions of life. He put down the money hungry approach and started writing rhymes in honor of the people that were lost.
Combining thoughtful and entertaining lyrics that you are destined to rewind, with beats and melodic hooks that you will be humming all day, "The Voice of My Tears" is one of the most celebrated mixtapes to come out of NYC's underground in a very long time. Please take a chance and listen to something that might change your perspective on everday life.
