The Makers were a band formed by Eddie Rayner and Brian Baker in 1989 after Eddie and Brian wrote and recorded a film score for the movie âRikki and Peteâ.
The songs were written and early recording done at Eddies studio in Melbourne. At that stage it was an Atari computer and a Tascam 8 track tape recorder.
The tracks were then taken to Platinium studios in Melbourne for additional recording. Eddies old mate from the Split Enz days, Hugh Padgham was bought in from London to mix the CD.
In 1990, Eddie and Brian, along with drummer, Michael Barker, toured Australia with The B52âs.
This is big sounding 90âs pop music, Eddies great keyboard playing and arranging, Brianâs guitars, soaring vocals and intelligent lyrics, and Hughâs classic mixes make this a classy outing.
