Details:
Max was in the Grade Chorus in 4th, 5th and 6th grade. Halfway through the sixth grade he picked up the trumpet and joined the school band in seventh grade, staying with it through his senior year of high school. Going to college in 1964 Max dropped the trumpet never to pick it up again. His cousin had an old, beat up acoustic guitar that he had plucked the strings off. Max bought it for $5.00. Since then he has had about 20 guitars, most of which were Martins. His current guitar is a Martin D-28.

Max started writing his own music and lyrics in 1968. He hung out with the likes of Jerry Garcia and David Grisman. David and Max did a lot of garage jamming in Max's Marin County (California) home.

Although Max has been playing the guitar for almost 40 years he never had the opportunity to record anything until this album-"Big Plans". Max has a number of songs on television shows, most noteable of which are "Every Woman" and "Recipe TV".

Max's style is a combination of blues, easy listening and country. When asked what category he chooses to describe his music he answered, "I don't know. Everything you hear has an effect on you whether you immediately know it or not." A local radio station in North Conway, NH has the call letters- WMWB, which stands for 'Music Without Boundaries'. "This is how I like to think of my music"!

Max hopes you will enjoy listening to the clips of this album and possibly purchase the full CD available here. It has been a labor of love!

Chet McCracken plays drums on this CD as well as added bass parts and percussion. Chet is a former drummer for the Doobie Brothers and the Bonnie Raitt Band.
