The CD "Laughing Through Tears" is a musical journey of a woman's heart. It explores themes of falling in love, to raising a family to finding a quiet, peaceful place inside which fuels the work of making the world a kinder place to be in. It is a combination of some originals and some old favorites with a new twist. The production is clean and simple, the lyrics thoughtful and passionate.

It is music that is upbeat, fun and soothing at once. Mary Beth's music is inspired by the beauty she finds in nature and the human spirit. As a nurse she believes in music as a tool for wellness and has always found solace in the sounds of her guitar. When exposed to the open tunings of Joni Michell's music, she began experimenting with songwriting. Other influences include David Wilcox, Sarah McLachlan, Patty Larkin, Shawn Colvin, Nanci Griffith, and the open tunings found in the Celtic music of the British Isles.
The CD Laughing Through Tears was inspired, in part, by the lyrics and vocals of the late Kate Wolf and Eva Cassidy, as well as Alison Krauss and many other wonderful singer/songwriters.
It is music that will lift you and leave you feeling good inside.
