Mark Pont has just released his 7th full length solo album, "The End Of The Beginning". This is without question his best and most complex release to date. As usual, the styles are many here: rock, pop, r&b and alternative are all blended and stir-fried to contemporary perfection.
Mark Pont's evocative and emotional music combines elements from Rock, Blues, Pop and Alternative. Mark has performed and/or recorded with members of Concrete Blonde, David and David, 2020, Ted Nugent, Cheap Trick, Carmine Appice, Missing Persons and The Pointer Sisters. Mark has also opened for Peter Frampton, Kansas and 38 Special, among many others.
Among the musicians and artists that have contributed to this project are: The rock steady drumming of Matt Laug is impeccable , drums; (Alainis Morrisette, Melissa Etheridge, Slash's Snakepit), Taras Prodaniuk, bass (Dwight Yokam, Lucinda Williams, Spencer Davis) Phil Parlapiano, keyboards( Rod Stewart); Fren Asken, guitar; CC White background vocals (Ryan Adams, Joe Cocker, George Clinton) and Gia Ciambotti, background vocals (Bruce Springstien, The Graces). Gia co-wrote the song "Out Of Time" with Mark on this CD. The album was mastered by Eddie Schreyer who has mastered or re-mastered numerous great artist's including (Queen, Korn,).
Many of the songs here are meant to enlighten and inspire with messages of hope, "Anything Is Possible" and "Rescue," and songs with a sense of longing, "I Miss You", "Cruel World". There is the rhythmic and melodic "Joyride" that was previously released on his "Movie Songs" CD, and "Good Love" which would make the dead want to dance. Mark has also put a new and unique spin on a classic cover song, with the atmospheric "Ball Of Confusion."
