Comparisons have been made to Sonic Youth, Trans Am, Bundy K. Brown, and other such luminaries. These were roundly lauded for the bandâs early exploits. However, with âPrideâ MC seems to have dropped out of guitar school and moved onto a more prescient challenge, experi-menting with a more ambitious formulization. Their playful approach to performance is ever present, and âPrideâ blends the bandâs tearing-riff-antics with a fresh vocal expression.
Drama unfolds, the fog lifts⦠songs truncate in density and length. Instrumentals fall in love with voice. Indie guitar swing takes a dive, and melody flutters from the underbrush. The major scale is a laughing Sun overhead, taking in natureâs musical bounty.
