Maui Ruhi Songs
Baha'i Sacred Writings set in Song
The Maui Ruhi Project started in the spring of 2004 when a Ruhi Book 2 Baha'i study course was held in Kihei, HI. Songs were used to help memorize some of the quotations from the Baha'i writings, and the group decided that we should produce a CD of the songs so that others might use and enjoy them in their Ruhi activities.
As the work progressed, it was decided to present the songs as beautifully as possible by composing complete musical arrangements for them. We wanted the songs to sound as good as anything one might hear on the radio. We also wanted the songs to present the "creative word", and only that, as accurately as possible.
Some additional songs became available from a Ruhi Book 4 study group and from other Bahá'ís on Maui.
These songs cover twelve quotations from Ruhi Book 2, two quotations from Ruhi Book 4, and two Bahá'í prayers often sung on Maui.
