Hi. My name is Marty Miller. I was born in Michigan in June of 1957. I accepted Jesusâ offer of salvation around 10 years old, during a vacation bible school. I was sincere in my desire, but lacked the foreknowledge of Godâs love and fellowship on a daily basis.
At around 15, the Lord spoke to me thru an evangelist, about taking this Christian life more serious. I dedicated my life to just trying to go along with what He might want to me to do and learn. I grew in a good youth group during my high school years, and also went on to a few years in Bible College.
I first began writing lyrics to songs while in Bible College, and started putting some acoustic numbers together with another guitar player. We ended up going around for awhile and doing some home-made concerts in a number of churches around Michigan. I started doing solo concerts around 1982. Throughout the 80s and 90s, I have always worked full-time, and sang on the weekends, mostly in Michigan. In the past few years, I have been going out of state off and on.
My concerts are very honest, open and âhumanâ. The message from my songs and dialogue tend to be directed 90 towards Christians, and their walk in Christ. I love to see new people brought to the Lord, but my main message tends to be two things: To lift up each other up in unity, as we live out our spiritual lives in this often dark and confusing world, and also to encourage or even convict those people of God who have become somewhat stale in their âactionsâ for the Lord.
I am presently learning new things about the Internet highway, and how to get my music out to people I have never met before. God is leading me to a lot of good people who are helping me with this process. But, my main focus will always be sharing with other believers through concerts, working with Christians through one-on-one fellowship and correspondence, and also writing new songs that will help others, from things I learn and hear in my daily walk. Daily growth and wisdom with God and others, daily working on my relationship with Marlene, and hanging with solid friendships that keep me on track are essential. I tend to be a guy who rushes into the next thing that needs to be overcome, and need to be constantly reminded of the important thing of just spending some great, relaxing time with my Father.
