Details:
Vince Mazzaraâs love of music began at age 12 when his father presented him with a classical guitar he brought back from Mexico. Self-taught as a guitarist, he continued to refine his musical skills studying voice and theater at the University of Las Vegas. Eventually, he went on to become the featured guitarist and vocalist with the successful trio, Beggarâs Velvet, playing to sold-out venues across California with partners Eddie Hailey and Patrick Morgan. He has since written over two hundred songs, instrumentals and original scores for film and theater. Among his favorite theatrical experiences were: Viet Rock, Twelfth Night and Hamlet, in which he also played the title role. His most recent score was from the acclaimed short film, The Nature of My Enemy.
With his debut album Words and Music, Mazzara revisits his early musical roots, re-creating his unique blend of rock, down-tempo ballads and tribal rhythms. When asked what albums he listens to, he says, âfilm scores.â As he puts it, âWhen I hear a good score, it goes direct to my senses; right to the soul. Iâll go on a long drive and put on six of my favorite CDs and just get lost in them. And thatâs how I want to write songs. I want to touch whatâs inside people.â
Influenced heavily by Lennon, Sting, Santana and old school R&B, Vince Mazzaraâs Words and Music dares you to crank it⦠and be moved.
