Nicola Mazzanti graduated in 1982 from the âLuigi Cherubiniâ Conservatory of Florence after studying with Sergio Giambi. He later attended courses and masterclasses with important soloists such as Mario Ancillotti, Aurèle Nicolet, Maxence Larrieu, Raymond Guiot, Emmanuel Pahud and James Galway. In 1986, Nicola Mazzanti earned a degree with full marks from D.A.M.S. ( University of Arts and Music) with a thesis in Music History.
Nicola Mazzanti has been the piccolo flute soloist in the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Orchestra since 1998; his performance received acknowledgements from conductors such as Mehta, Bychkov, Slatkin, Mata, Muti, C. Abbado, Ozawa and many others. In 1999, he was invited by Claudio Abbado to play as solo piccolo flute with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra in the opera âFalstaffâ. In 2002 he was asked to audition for âsolo piccolo fluteâ in the Berliner Philharmoniker.
Nicola Mazzanti performs intensely both as a soloist and with chamber music ensembles in Italy and abroad. In order to diffuse the piccolo flute repertoire, he gave recitals for piccolo flute and piano during âFlautissimoâ, the italian Flute Convention. Nicola Mazzanti has also been invited to perform at the Vienna Flute Festival for the year 2003, at the Annual Convention of the National Flute Association in San Diego for the year 2005 and at the 5th International Convention of the British Flute Society for the year 2006
Nicola Mazzanti teaches both flute and piccolo. Since 1982, he has taught at the âG.Verdiâ music school in Prato. Since 2001, he has held annual courses in piccolo flute at the âEsperienze Musicaliâ association based in Rovigo and at the Italian Flute Academy in Rome, where he co-operates with both Raymond Guiot and Angelo Persichilli. He is often invited to hold masterclassses in Italy and abroad. He also contributes regularly to âSyrinxâ, the Italian Flute Academyâs quarterly magazine, with a column on the piccolo flute, its technique and repertoire.


Giovanni Verona started studying the piano under the guidance of Prof. Dora Poli Zavattaro, with whom he recieved his diploma and the highest grades in 1991 at Conservatory âA.Boito â in Parma.
From 1993 to 1998 he did his Master Class with Maestri P.N Masi ,A. Lonquich and studied Chamber Music with D.De Rosa ,M.Jones and F.Rossi.
In 1999, he was the winner of the national selection for a place in the âOrchestra Giovanile Italianaâ performed also symphonic music under the important conducters such as C.M Giulini, G. Sinopoli, A.Pinzauti.
He was the winner of several contests as soloist , duet and trio and played for the principal music institutions in Italy, France ,Spain, Swizerland , Austria and Slovenia.
He also collaborated with important musicians such as A.Baldovino, P. Vernikov, A.Vismara, E.Dindo, M.Sirbu, Desderi, R.Zanettovich, M. Vaitzner, A. Nannoni,C. Rossi, frequenting important schools such as the Music School of Fiesole, Chigiana Accademy, Conservatory of Lyon.
In 1999 he won the international contest â Premio A.Ciccolini â and performed in Lyon for Radio France. This concert was trasmitted live nation wide . He has been teaching at the Music School of Fiesole since 1995.
