Raw emotions, plaintive storytelling, and real life, musically rendered, and magical, all over a pounding backbeat, wailing guitars, thumping bass, and a voice that sends chills up the spine.
11 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Modern Rock, POP: with Live-band Production
Details:
"Too Much To Dream" is the product of "twenty years' bad luck," says lead singer and songwriter, Charity, of Make Me Shiver's debut album. "Well, maybe not all bad," she amends, "but, certainly, enough of it that you can tell by the lyrics that the songs are about some deep emotions."
Indeed, Make Me Shiver's managed to create a record that sounds like raw emotion. It feels like you're right there, experiencing everything. The lyrics speak to you of your own emotions and experiences.
Make Me Shiver was formed in the spring of 2003 as a way to make some extra money, but it became much more than that: it became a way for the members of the band to release tensions and emotions.
In the years that followed, Make Me Shiver opened for Jello Biafra in Everett, Washington, toured a little, and then decided to make a record. The process was a trial in itself. After several tries, the band finally found the right combination to translate their music to recording in Rusty Gill at Another Broken Cord Studios in Newport, Washington.
Make Me Shiver plans on touring in the summer of 2006, and has songs being played on several radio stations and podcasts, including VH1's "Best Week Ever" podcast.
