In 1993 San Francisco's resident dj Mars pushed for a new sound that helped change dance music culture in America. Considered the pioneer of Cybertrance, Mars has attained a cult-like following for his distinctive sound. Creating music for his international record label Frequency 8, Mars is recognized as one of the most influential American dance music producers today.
Mars performs with all of his own music at the some of the largest dance events in U.S. history, including "T.A.O." which was held at the Los Angeles memorial coliseum on New Years Eve and had over 45,000 people. As a major influence on dance music, he has received press from Billboard magazine, Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Weekly, Wired and MTV.
Mars has produced over 36 internationally released songs of his signature "Cybertrance" sound and has recently branched out by working with artists like Donald Glaude, The Jungle Brothers, George Clinton and most recently Alicia Keys.
