Clonide Telfort Laporte, âKloâ was born on November 16 on the beautiful island of Haiti. Her mother, Irene Gabriel was a Catholic School teacher and her father, Guilbeaud Telfort was a musician who played with major bands such as Tropicana and Septentrional. Her cousin is the legendary Jean Elie âCubanoâ Telfort, Skah Shahâs famous frontman. Undoubtedly, âKompaâ music is part of Kloâs DNA.

Kloâs father realized that his daughter had a special gift when one day he had a gig, but also had to babysit his three-year old daughter. He placed her bassinette under his keyboard, and throughout the entire show, she slept serenely. This was a sign for Mr.Telfort that his daughter definitely had music in her blood. Klo came to the United States at shortly before her eighth birthday. Her first musical experience was in middle school, when she was 9.

In High School, she joined the Orchestra and fell in love with her favorite musical instrument, the violin. Music had captured her imagination, so she wanted to learn more and joined her first band, Miami Sound Central. While in the band, she developed a deep love for singing. During her sophomore year, Klo competed with her High School against two hundred other schools and came in first place for best vocals and performance.

After high school, Klo felt something was still missing in her life. A
resonating Soprano and Alto, she emulated most of the singers she grew up listening to, like Whitney Houston, Regina Bell, Patti LaBelle, Irene Cara, Denise Williams just to name a few. However, when she was a teenager, her mother became a Christian, so Klo mostly sang in church. Something inside of her was yearning for more.

She heard and fell in love with Haitian Kompa band ZIN, when she was in New York, and since then she knew what she was here to do. She sang background vocals for artists such as Emeline Michel, Jacques Sauveur Jean (Jackito), Jean Claude Guillaume, Abner G, and more.

Kloâs dreams took shape when she joined with Cleona Pierre (Cleo), Linda Estime(Porsha), Seddy, and Nathalie Armand (Natico) in the all female band known as Dâsire. (Later known as Dâsire3). Since then, Klo has shared the stage with D-zine, Nu-Look, Zenglen, Carimi, T-Vice, and more. In 2008, the group Dâsire disbanded and Klo went on to fulfill her journey by pursuing her first solo project. The album, entitled Exhale will be released in August 2011.
