The Royal Wade Kimes Bio
Royal Wade Kimes was born on the border of Arkansas and Oklahoma. His life reads like a fiction novel.
He grew up in a little rural town by the name of Chester, in Arkansas, where he rode the mountain range chasing cattle. There has always been two sides to Royal Wade Kimes, the easy going side and the hidden outlaw. There is a reason for that. His family tree would not bend when the depression hit back in the thirties. They all turned to outlawing, running with the likes of Ma Barker, Bonnie and Clyde, and Pretty Boy Floyd. Royal Wade Kimes has a great deal of the same timber of his family tree. He too refused to bend when the streets of Nashville blew cool to his style, country music with a twist of cowboy. He has been compared to Chris Ledoux, Marty Robbins and even Elvis. Not a bad bunch to be running with in comparisons. Given his start by the late Eddy Arnold and encouraged by the late Johnny Cash, Royal Wade pressed on despite the cold shoulder. He fought the system, and after a long fight he came away with victory, winning two âWill Rogersâ awards and being named best CD, by a prominent national magazine and being one of the most requested artist on XM Satellite, America. Then Garth Brooks heard his record âHanginâ Around The Moonâ and the two of them got together and cut âNight Birdsâ on Royal Wadeâs second release on Wonderment Records, âA Dyinâ Breed.â Garth called the song a cowboy Van Morrison.
Royal Wadeâs influences were Marty Robbins, The Eagles, Roy Orbison, Elvis, Bob Seger, Eddy Arnold, Johnny Cash and Don Gibson. Royal Wade Kimes has eight CDâS under his belt all but one produced by one of the greatest guitar players in Nashville, Mike Noble. When asking Mike about Royal Wade Kimes::
âHeâs a crooner. He can sing hard core country with cowboy flavor, then sing something soft and easy. His vocal is mellow, soothing at times. Nashville has kicked him around for awhile, but they may be waking up and realizing just what they have.
Royal Wade has never run with the pack, heâs a loner who stays out in front. Royal Wade Kimes is all cowboy, all American. His song âDanny Playâ features the late Danny Davis on trumpet. This song is a prime example of how much feeling can be put in a song by Royal Wade Kimes. Feeling is the one thing Royal Wade is high on. A quote he lives by::: âDonât let me get this so clean, I lose the feel.â
