He holds degrees in music from Southern Methodist University and the American University. He is a published composer and member of ASCAP since 1983. He has received the annual standard award from ASCAP since 2000.
The songs on this CD began with some things that he shared with his students at the university. Their positive reaction prompted him to take his performances to local venues, where the audiences are also made mostly of young college types. The songs defy description and categorization, but most are humorous in nature.
