Details:
George Husaruk

Before you read my bio I would like to share a few thoughts about the way I feel about music, and specifically about my jazz cd. I think that music is about reinventing yourself over and over again. When I play a song that someone else, or I wrote, I like to play it in my style, recreating that song; playing it in a way that has never been done before. Creating music - the essence of jazz - is a powerful reflexion of the spiritual nature of mankind.

Biographies

George was born in West Germany and raised in Montreal, Canada where George began studying the recorder and later the flute at the Royal Conservatory of Music at McGill University with renowned flutist and recorder teacher Marion Duschenes.
When his family moved to Los Angeles in 1960 he continued his studies on the flute with, among others, George Drexler and Jean Pierre Rampal. In the mid 60's while at UCLA he played in a rock nâ roll band, and began listening to jazz guitarist Wes Montgomery.
He has performed with many jazz musicians including: Cal Tjader, The Chuck van Horn Quartet, The Dave Sexton Quintet, Zzah, Will Siegel, Chris Amberger, Randy Vincent and Barbara Curtis.
George Husaruk divides his time between teaching music and mathematics, and performing with his jazz trio, and with many musicians in Mendocino, Sonoma and Lake Counties.
