Detroit's "Glitter Trash" carries on old school punk rock tradition and a historical perspective directly inspired from Detroit's famed and legendary protopunk bands "The Stooges' and "The MC5". Cleveland's "Dead Boys", NYC's "The New York Dolls" and London's "Sex Pistols" have also rubbed off on Glitter Trash's sound relying on stripped down instrumentation, minimal or no overdubs, and, in true classical punk tradition rocking small punk venues using a stage roving lead singer (Jenna Talia), guitar slinging Gipson Les Paul Jr. paired with Orange/Marshall combo amps (Homeless), retro '72 Ludwig straight up drum banging (Dirtbag) and '58 Fender bass thumping with Ampeg amps (Dave O.). in "Glitter Trash's" first effort, "Wreckage", a 10 song testament to sex (I Need Sex), despair (Wreckage, Detroit Bender and Panic Button), American politics and society (Wake Up and Liberty), tongue-in-cheek punk fun (Beauty Queen and Adult Superstore), friendship (Punk Love) and even roadside truck stop murders (18 Wheel Murder Machine), the band uses truth as its platform and brutal reality as its calling card. The album was recorded in Ypsilanti, MI USA and Livonia, MI USA over 2010/2011 at Fecal Productions. The band is based and practices in downtown Detroit, Mi USA.
