The Galaxies, a very popular rock band from Garland, Texas were regionally right up there with the British Invasion bands during the 1960's. Their combination of great original songs with the hits of the era make for the fantastic 28 song collection on this CD.

A great music business anecdote concerns the band recording in 1962; the drummer played loud and hard and was bleeding into all the other microphones. So it was decided to move him into the back alley behind the recording studio with mike cables and earphones. Since this was late night on a weekend, it must have puzzled the police when they noticed drummer Ray Windt pounding away on his drums outdoors... with no apparent band! The cops were were patient, probably very curious as to WHY he was outdoors beating on the drums.
