Hip, Rockin' music for kids of all ages.
12 MP3 Songs
KIDS/FAMILY: Children's Pop, KIDS/FAMILY: Kid Friendly
Details:
After recording for several indie rock labels, Ed Stankewick, aka Mr. âSâ, began a career as a public schoolteacher in Brooklyn, New York. Blending his tastes for classic rock, folk, vintage punk, alt-country, and blues with his kooky sense of humor, Mr. âSâ has developed a unique sound hip for both children and parents. His debut album, Songs For Family, Friends & Frogs, is a collection of original songs inspired and tested by his own children as well as the kids he teaches and jams with everyday. Whether heâs telling a story or just horsing around Mr. âSâ will keep the kindergarten dancing, the 6th grade laughing, and the minivan ROCKING!
"Keep an eye on this Mr. "S" guy, he's a cool guy and he's poised to be the next big thing."
DJ Belinda Miller, Greasy Kids Stuff, WFMU-FM, New Jersey
"If you want to introduce your children to great rock ânâ roll in a format thatâs specifically geared to them, âSongs For Family Friends & Frogsâ by Mr. âSâ is for you. But watch out â it wonât be long before those same kids are swiping copies of "Rubber Soul" and "Exile on Main Street" from your CD collection."
Eric Weiner, Author and Freelance Journalist
"Mr. S. clearly knows the difference between "children's music" and "music for everyone, including children," and wisely drives straight down the latter path with a collection of songs the young ones can enjoy without feeling talked/sung down to. It rocks, but rocks gently enough.â
Michael Lynch, Fufkin.com
âFrankie the French Fry sounds like the Ramones taking a detour through Sesame Street. Be a Superhero, give Mr.âSâ a shot!â
Clyde Kerlew, Brooklyn Public Library
On his newly released CD, âSongs For Family, Friends & Frogsââ MR. âSâ AKA Ed Stankewick, always amazingly hits the nail on the head with his sweet combo of hard rock nâ roll riffs and a heavy dose of âright-on kiddie hooksâ.
Ken Shankman, Elmore Magazine/Ken-Do Promotions
âFantastic! Frankie the French Fry made me laugh out loud!â
Tony Mac, Beef Stewdios
"If the Buffalo Springfield and the Pixies got together to make a kid's record I imagine this as the result."
Michelle Bosco, Alt-Chain Zine
âMr. âSâ is really ridiculous, silly, and fun.â
Grace, 2nd Grader Portland Maine
