A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Mike Simpson has often stated that without music, he probably would not exist. Mike started writing songs around the age of 11 and learned to pen it while in high school. At the age of 15, Mike and his brother Wayne were already playing various instruments and began mixing their own songs by using 2 tape recorders in order to see what they would sound like on a record. He was amazed when a brand new artist (Prince) who at that time was 17, released his first album and like himself, played all of the instruments as well as performed all of the vocals. Mike does the same with the âTrustâ project. According to Mike, âTrustâ is simply Gospel Funk music with harmonic vocal arrangements carefully blended to help deliver Christian messages. This project takes gospel music to another level and is also perfect for youth events, wedding receptions and the like.
