An extraordinary collection of six short stories about the Civil War narrated by the author on three CDs.

9 MP3 Songs
SPOKEN WORD: Audiobook, FOLK: Traditional Folk

Details:
Mr. Akers, an Austin, Texas attorney, has been a lifelong history and Civil War enthusiast, and published author. In addition to the book "Flames After Midnight: Murder Vengeance and the Desolation of a Texas Community" (Austin: UT Press, 1999), he is the author of various periodical articles, song lyrics, poems, historical dramas, a newspaper column, and numerous legal essays.
His song lyrics have been featured by noted Civil War recording artists, Bobby Horton and William and Carla Coleman on several recently released collections.
Each of the six stories in "Tales for the Telling" present the reader with an excitingly different perspective of incidents of the Civil War. Drawing on his experience as a student of history, artifact collector, reenactor, dramatist, and teacher, the author provides viewpoints and details that are simultaneously fascinating, historically accurate, and distinctly unlike commonly accepted interpretations of attitudes toward issues of the day.
In classic short story style that weave an epic tale, often with a surprise ending, the stories present endearing as well as despicable characters and explore aspects of combat, fear, attitudes toward race, and even sexual matters in a manner the reader will find nowhere else.
The six short stories that comprise the "Tales for the Telling" collection are expertly read by the author and in a three disk set, packaged in a stylish triple disk DVD box for easy storage.
