Details:
With his music featured prominently on the WB and a live on-air performance for âAmerican Idolâsâ Ryan Seacrest under his belt - thereâs a good chance that by now youâve heard of new music talent Rob Momary. If you havenât, chances are you will soon. The captivating melodies and thoughtful lyrics of this Las Vegas-born singer/songwriter set him a cut above the garden-variety pop star - putting him in a position to become a powerful, fresh new voice on the adult pop music scene.

Rob first picked up a guitar at 15, and was encouraged to learn how to play by his dad, Doug (creator of the 1970's nationally syndicated kids show, "The New Zoo Revue"), and sister, Laura. His first foray into professional music came soon thereafter with his sister in the summer of 1997. The two played several shows together, showcasing their original material in a laid-back folk/pop style. The brother and sister team recorded a demo CD during the winter months of the following year, but time and distance kept them from continuing a career together.

At college, Rob dedicated his time to learning studio production. On the side, he used his production education to score two short films and record an acoustic demo of new songs. He continued to write, spending hours in practice rooms at the piano or playing guitar, and finally re-appearing on the live scene in the summer of 2001. Not long after graduation, Rob's vibrant passion for and confidence in his music led him to make the move to Los Angeles to pursue his art professionally.

After his arrival in L.A., Rob immediately hit the live scene, playing several well-received solo shows on Hollywood's Sunset Strip and creating a groundswell of devoted fans. Demand for a CD began to rise, so Rob took to the studio in late 2002 with good friend and innovative music producer Jesse Deyo to create a 6-song EP of Rob's songs.

The completion of the EP early the following year marked a turning point in Rob's music career. He was soon credited as a Featured Artist on the website for the entertainment news TV program "Extra," opening the door for him to perform live at L.A. music standards such as The Knitting Factory, the Derby, The Mint, and other venues.

Though not included on the album, Robâs unique acoustic rendition of Foreigner's "Cold As Ice" earned him a coveted spot as a finalist on L.A. radio station STAR 98.7 FM's "Be A Star" contest. As a finalist, he was given the privilege to perform live on the air before a panel that included "American Idol's" Ryan Seacrest, pop icon Donnie Osmond, and Don Lind, VP of the A&R Department at Hollywood Records.

Rob's most recent accomplishment occurred in early 2004, when the EP track "Brief Intermission" was aired as a featured song on the hit WB TV show "One Tree Hill."
