WORLD: Reggae

Details:
This is the second in a series of various artists produced album by the Chicago/Jamaica production team of Modern Culture. The CD contains offerings from Chicago and Jamaican based artists in particular. Prodigal, who opens the CD, hails from Port Maria Jamaica and urges the youth to get their sandals, bible and their long robes so they can praise JAH. He humorously points out that some youths are into NIKE
AIR and FILA shoes not sandals. Sadiki bows in with a sultry tune and changes the vibe. The veteran gives us a soulful "galtune" for the ladies. Jamaican Johnny Ranks says he wants to "draw them out" and goes on to deliver a strong political message about things going on inna"yard". Tumba King gives us "honor" in remembering South Africa and Sanapoco takes us down the gal dem way with the tune"BIG DOG" trying to figure out why the girls love him so. Chicago veteran Bunny Jackson sings a love song professing his love. The Fisherman gives us a real yard style tune singing as well as some rapping on the track, another great girltune. Twilite Jones voices out next with a wicked tune, Missing you, a cover done very well. The first female to check in? Jahquea. She delivers a great tune expressing her godly virtues and of H.I.M. She is a newcomer to modern culture and this is her debut she does not disappoint. Errol T the wiley veteran is next bringing a lovers rock vibes that is infectious when heard. As usual the veteran is flawless. Next is Chicago native and female veteran Andrea singing out to JAH the almighty, a nice tune and very catchy too. More Lover's Rock comes via Carl Brown with a song adapted to reggae. It's a great tune and his voice fits the vibe. Here comes Ras Kelly taking an offence to the chi chi man, nuff said. Donny silk comes next with a love song for the ladies, wicked!! always a killer, then its time for the don of lyrics himself Hot Ice. Jamaican born and it shows. Really hard-core lyrics burnin babylon an dem system. Then it's back to basics with Jamaican resident Anthony John singing of the love of mama and papa. Israel Vibes is next singing about love and the lack of it for the women, help him nuh? Hot new Jamaican rapper Major Facts burns up the vibes with Brutal! a wicked tune and wicked mix too. He wants to know why the teenagers are killing one another over "bling bling". Cazzwel does an admirably good cover of "I want to make it with you". He is another artist making his recording debut on the cd. Braco the horn playing guru brings up the rear playing the title track "Boxing". This release has hit the ground running and won't disappoint. This album CD represents the best from yard and foreign inclusive of all sub genres of reggae from dancehall, lover's rock, roots rock reggae etc...Get it; you wont believe your ears...
