Details:
Born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in the South Side projects, Moé Tre turned to music as an escape from the life his peers chose, that of gangs and drugs. In â96, Moé Tre moved to Cincinnati, started rapping and quickly became the Tri-Stateâs most favored MC. After winning the nationally known Black Family Reunion Talent Show four years in a row, Tre started doing shows throughout the US and has shared the stage with acts such as Twista, Bone Crusher, the Youngbloodz, and many more.

Moé Tre has been featured in BETâs âFreestyle Fridayâ competition where he was the champion from December 2003 through January 2004. He returned to Cincinnati to focus on his studio recording. His release â6 Micsâ enjoyed local success and the singles âHunh Who What?!â and âKick Rockzâ gained moderate club and radio play.

Moe soon became the voice of the Bengalâsâ 2004 theme song, âWe are the Bengalsâ and appeared on their website and jumbotron. He got much attention from news outlets, sports radio, and fans at the weekly tailgate parties and became a cult classic. This also got the attention of the national sports media and led to the local FOX affiliate commissioning a song for the annual University of Cincinnati/Xavier University basketball cross-town shootout. The song was played on ESPN during the national broadcast of the game.

His last release, âNo Spinsâ, described the local situation with urban radio support but also shows determination to work harder and not be the mascot of anyone just to further his career. The CD was written about in various local magazines, XXL, and The Source.

This coverage got the attention of Roc-A-Fella Recordsâ Philadelphia camp and gave birth to the idea of uniting the two cities by celebrating their similarities in song. The single, âHood Thangâ, does just that- describes the focus of Moe and Young Chris to get out of the âhood but not lose that part of the âhood in them. This single is just the first salvo leading to new solo projects from both in â06.

We hope DJâs and radio will help support our movement this year.
